Policy relevance

The Emilia-Romagna region has an integrated approach to mobility governance, primarily addressing accessibility concerns. It seeks to minimize and streamline travel, promoting more sustainable modes of transportation by e.g. behavioural measures. At the regional level, the key instrument for implementing these strategies is the Regional Integrated Plan of Transports (Piano Regionale Integrato dei Trasporti - PRIT). Sustainable mobility stands as a pivotal strategic priority, underpinned by the publication of guidelines and technical documents outlining measures for adoption. In the MASA area, the Municipality of Modena has identified a primary challenge in assessing the mobility requirements associated with school transportation, while UNIMORE will concentrate on the commuting and mobility needs of university students.
