Geographical relevance

The area has a continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. The town lies at the Bečva river in the fertile lowlands of the Morava River valley, which contributes to the region's agricultural significance.
The landscape around Přerov is characterized by rolling hills, agricultural fields, and forest.

 
Cultural relevance

Most inhabitants are of Czech and Moravian nationality. Other nationalities represented are Slovak, Roma, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Polish, and other. Přerov has approximately 2.6% foreigner (2022) in the 1st administrative district of the city (Přerov and its immediate surroundings) and 2.2% in the total population falling under the Přerov authorities (±10 km from the city). 
 
Policy relevance

The city adopted a SUMP in 2017. The planning section of this document does not address the issue of autonomous mobility. As part of its strategic goal of "Innovation," the city commits to various initiatives, including supporting infrastructure for electromobility, developing intelligent public transport stops, intelligent intersections, and parking systems.
