Geographical relevance

It encompasses an extensive 220-kilometer coastline along the Aegean Sea. Its mountainous terrain features Mount Attavyros of 1,215 meters. The island's diverse topography includes plateaus like the Kamiros Plateau and the Valley of Butterflies. It is a destination for cultural and nature tourists. 
 
Cultural relevance

Over 2,5 million tourists arrived in Rhodes only during summer of 2022, which is almost 10% of tourists arriving in Greece last summer.
 
Policy relevance

Apply the regional public transportation authority (ΡΟΔΑ) policies. Rhodes is expected to introduce a new service of ecological and safe transportation, with speed control and proper adaption to the specific road environment, with geofencing technology as well as provision of training for ensuring the right use of the service.
